Soweto · Since the township came alive
Welcome to Wandies Place — a legendary Dube buffet restaurant where pap meets chakalaka, strangers become family, and every wall tells a story written by guests from across the world.

Our Story
From humble beginnings on Makhalemele Street to hosting presidents, musicians and travelers from every continent — Wandies Place has become more than a restaurant. It is a piece of Soweto's living history, where the warmth of township hospitality fills every plate.
From the Buffet
Generous, soulful, and made the township way — served buffet style so you can taste a little of everything.

Soft maize pap with rich, slow-simmered beef or chicken stew.

Spicy tomato, bean and vegetable relish — a Soweto staple.

Hearty isistambu cooked low and slow until creamy and comforting.

Flame-grilled boerewors, lamb chops and chicken with all the sides.

The Tradition
Every inch of Wandies is covered in notes, business cards and signatures left by guests from every corner of the planet. It started with one message — and it never stopped. When you visit, leave one of your own.
